Membership Information

Application Details and Fees


For 2022 the initiation fee is $6,000, and dues are $300 per quarter.  When you apply to Hobcaw Yacht Club you are required to pay a $1,000 non-refundable deposit. The deposit will be applied to your final balance once you become a club member.


Hobcaw Yacht Club currently has a waiting list. (Waiting list does not apply for Hobcaw Point subdivision residents with proof of residency).


When members are approved by the Hobcaw Yacht Club Board of Directors, they will have 15 days to pay the remainder of their initiation fee, first quarterly dues and the 2013 membership pool assessment for a total of $5,800. Please note, initiation fees are subject to change and are calculated based on the date members are voted in.


Membership requires 2 sponsors who are current Hobcaw Yacht Club members in good standing. To obtain an application please have one of your sponsors reach out on your behalf to our membership chair or the club manager:  clubmanager@hobcawyachtclub.com or membership@hobcawyachtclub.com.


NOTE:  $1,000 is a non-refundable deposit due when an application is submitted

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

RESIDENT MEMBERS

Any individual twenty-one years of age or older who is of good moral character, who is acceptable to the membership, owns real property and maintains primary residence within the Hobcaw Point Subdivision.

NON-RESIDENT MEMBERS

Any individual twenty-one years of age or older who is of good morale character, who is acceptable to the membership and lives outside of the Hobcaw Point Subdivision. Non-residents elected after July 12, 1993 will be classified as nonresident associates.


Resident, Non-resident and Non-resident associates will be referred to as regular members as opposed to special category members.

JUNIOR MEMBERS

Any individual eighteen to twenty-one years of age who meets the general requirements for regular membership and is the child of a regular or out-of-town member. Junior members shall not be included in the membership 1imimitation.

OUT-OF-TOWN MEMBERS

Any individual who meets the general requirement for membership and resides outside the Tri-County area. Out-of-town members shall not be included in the membership limitation.

LIFE MEMBERS

Any member who attains age sixty-five and has been a member in good standing for at least twenty consecutive years may advise or be nominated for election by the Board of Directors to life membership. Life members shall not be included in the membership limitation.

HONORARY MEMBERS

Any individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club of community may be elected to honorary membership by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.
